Help, Support & Groups for 12 – 19 year olds
Background
Libby King has 19 years of experience working with 10 to 19 year-olds. In her previous role as an Area Youth Worker, Libby gained 7 years of experience managing Youth Work interventions across Lewes and Wealden. This is mainly carried out in youth centres, detached Youth Work in the community or on a health bus.
Libby has developed LGBT+ youth safe spaces across the county. As part of the community, Libby has insight into how important this is and is passionate about creating positive change for the community.
Evidence suggests people identifying as LGBT are at higher risk of experiencing poor mental health. Often they experience complex needs such as self-harm, anxiety, suicidal thoughts/attempts. This safe space ensures they have a chance to feel inclusive, listened to and supported around issues they may be facing.
